How do you transfer files from one computer to another without internet or floppies?
I feel like an idiot asking this, but here it goes…
I have files on the computer in a room down in the basement that I want to move to my computer that has internet in a completely different area in the house. The computer the files are on does not have internet and niether computer has places for floppies… How do I move my files from one computer to the other without the use of internet or floppies? Are there special discs you can buy that work like floppies that you can simply drag files into just like floppies? If so, where would I purchase them and do they run expensive? I’ve simply got picture files I’d like to transfer right now, “JPEGS” I assume. The other computer without internet has photoshop so I had drawn some pictures I now want to move to my other computer that has internet. Okay, I don’t know how many times I repeated myself or not, but hopefully you all get my question… And maybe even have some helpful answers. Thanks for your time!
If you need to transfer more than 4 gb of stuff, than buy an external harddrive, w hich comes in various sizes ranging from 20 gb- 500gb. Buy at least enough to make one trip. Save everything to it, then load it onto the new computer.
If you have 4gb or less of stuff you want to transfer, then buy a USB mass storage device. They come in various sizes from 256mb- 4gb.
External harddrives are expensive, but they ar very efficient. A 60gb one would probably be about $60.
USB are a lot cheaper, only for lower gb. A one gb is about $25, while a 4gb is around $60. The external hardrive might be the most economical.
