how much does 4gb ram memory on a mac laptop hold?

I am a little confused. I’m looking into buying a second hand mac book pro laptop. The seller has told me that the laptop has 4GB of ram memory. I am confused, because I have an ipod that has 16GB of memory. How much does 4GB of ram memory hold? Is it a lot? If you could help I would very much appreciate it! Thanks

Yes. 4 GB RAM (Random Access Memory) is a more than enough for a Laptop. It is not the hard disk we are talking about. All the file (picture, movie etc.) you will save inside the hard disk. You have to ask how many GB is the hard disk space in that laptop. I’m sure it would be more than enough since it has 4 GB RAM. Usually 160GB or more you might have for that laptop.
